Educational

Educational projects consist of a wide range of buildings from classrooms to dorms to natatoriums. Educational projects vary in level of finishes, but generally we provide the steel framing for the buildings, large trusses for gymnasiums and natatoriums, as well as high-end finishes for universities and colleges. Below are several examples of metal fabrication and structural steel construction projects we have done for academic facilities


Empire State College Distance Learning Center

Location: Saratoga Springs, NY

Description: Empire State College Distance Learning Center is a 30,000 ft2 structural steel 2-story building in Saratoga Springs. Scheduled to top out mid 2008.

Middlebury College - Atwater Commons

Location: Middlebury, Vermont

Description: The Atwater Commons project consisted of the construction of two residence halls totaling 85,000 sf which provide 154 beds, along with living rooms, full kitchens, and study, seminar and laundry facilities, and a new elliptically shaped 18,700 ft2, 225-seat dining hall and lounge. A rooftop garden provides excellent insulation, protection of the roofing membrane, and reduction of impervious surfaces on campus.

Arlington School

Location: Union Vale, New York

Description: Union Vale Middle School and Vail Farm Elementary School total 250,000 ft2. We furnished and erected structural steel, joist, metal decking and miscellaneous metals.

Middlebury College - Library

Location: Middlebury, Vermont

Description: Construction of a 143,000 ft2, $30,000,000 new library at Middlebury College. The three-story structure was designed to fit the classic, academic integrity of the college, while accommodating the increasing use of technology in teaching and research. It will also provide expansion space for the college's growing collection of printed materials to support evolving curriculum needs. This project was completed in 2004.
